"A stifle of opinions"
stifle : suppress, smother, restrain, check, curb, silence
noun - "The absurd Watchtower study evoked a wide stifle of opinions among the apathetic congregation"
english is a great language, especially when it comes to collective nouns.
a "murder" of crows is just fantastic as is a "mob" of meerkats.
a "colony" of ants, a "pride" of lions.

first some context to this post.
historically the elders meeting with the circuit overseer has had the following format : outline for meeting including ministerial servants then, after they have been dismissed, discussion of local issues.
the last visit there was an additional outline for the elders only, the notorious "gender blurring" discussion.. you might wonder what is being discussed this time round, so here you are:.
Onlyest thing I remember from CO visit elders-meetings was Dan Skinner going to lengths to ensure that the cheques had Watchtower spelled correctly- capital W- not two words- no hyphen- do not hold up the cash!
l guess we all have our own reasons and thought it would give insight to others considering going to reconsider and not go.
I sleep easy knowing that my presence will be doubly covered by two guys who have zero interest in the stupid cult their silly old mother is nuts about. Yearly attenders - they will never again show up on the count after the old lady passes.
There must be hundreds of thousands just like them - coerced, guilted and badgered into burning good gas just to have their heads counted by nitwits.
our family and friends blame us for the fact that they shun us.
imagine an abusive husband who threatened his wife that if she leaves him he will hunt her down and kill her.
eventually she finds the courage to leave and he carries out his threat.
We created their problem that triggered the shunning -by refusing to believe or teach their falsehoods.
We deny their solution by never returning to believing and teaching what we know to be false.

omg i cannot believe that someone is making a hollywood-like movie based on the topic of blood transfusions and jehovah's witnesses!
here is the trailer..
i think its vitally important to realized that the wts now has as of this year probably close to 2 billion in overall assets worldwide that it can live off for a very long time.
i get this gut feeling that the wts heads are positioning themselves and the organization in tentative survival mode for the long run.. so many cut backs, the selling off of many branches, the down sizing of much of its operations, are all tell tale hints that even the heads of this organization are preparing for the eventful devolving of this organization.
the wts gb leaders say that jah's chariot is moving along at a faster pace but in reflection of how this organization been conducting itself as of late, that wouldn't necessarily be the real truth of the matter.

Luxembourg and Switzerland is where the WT elite in Europe will go to hide their share of skimmed donations.
Hong Kong and Singapore provide Asian brothers the latest in secret financial services.
And for our American cult leaders and their fave lawyers - the Cayman Islands will set you up with a phoney bank, a phoney company and a phoney charity. These are tiny private companies with any number of directors who spend the money world-wide using credit cards connected only to the host country.
post photographic evidence of dubs' false prophecies.
i'll start:.
the preaching work will conclude in the 20th century.
"...within seconds they formed a human chain.." to rescue a trucker surrounded by smoke and spilled diesel and trapped in his smashed, mangled tractor hanging on the embankment of a Pennsylvania turnpike.
2 Tim. 3 "In the last days men will be lovers of themselves..." more bullshit from Paul

they must really be having issues finding brothers to slave for the org..
Ryan told the truth -
A boring, pointless waste of energy like preaching nonsense door to door - just makes you wish for a long hike in the woods...
Why would a nice young guy like him have only one friend among millions of 'brothers"? ... oh yeah, it's a cult.
i could really do with some advice on what's acceptable when you leave.
we have left of our own accord about 6 months ago.
we didn't celebrate xmas this year but have just celebrated my daughters birthday.. a friend of mine who is still a witness told me that an elder had approached her and asked if we had celebrated xmas and that if we did it was a df offence as is classed as apostasy!
Hello TBB-
The following advise was well received on a previous thread -
http://mormon-alliance.org/casereports/volume3/http://mormon-
you have constitutional rights to freedom of religion, expression, belief and association,
I have advocated at various times on this site, that those wishing freedom from this or any cult should simply exercise their rights by making a written, dated, declaration of their personal religious freedom to a trusted friend or counselor/lawyer. Do this while you are still in "good standing".
It is you alone that decides what faith if any that you chose to practice and you are free to abandon any faith at any time, for any reason, without interference.
You have already ceased presenting yourself as a JW by fading from the cults meetings, commenting to espouse their propaganda and sharing in their public displays of activity - DO NOT be drawn back under the ecclesiastic authority of the congregation by allowing them to meet with you! ( the elders manual states that agreeing to meet with them affirms your acceptance of the congregations authority) DON'T DO IT!
Let them be the last to know that you have already acted in accordance with your legal rights and that any actions then taken after that fact (ie.against a non-member) will be to invite prosecution.
The link above discusses how Norman Hancock sued the Mormons for similar interference of his rights - enjoy

Your highlighted quote above is a verbatim quote from Jdub.org
It is classic JW bait and switch - they posed one question and proceed to answer a completely different one.
Those unfamiliar with the cult lingo will not realize the HUGE distinction betwwen former members and inactive.
Completely dishonest as are all things JW.
